Hi All,
As I mentioned in my previous post there is no spark on my newly acquired GPZ1100.
I haven't looked at the issue closely and I haven't got a service manual yet. I just checked for spark when cranking the engine with the starter button. I've been reading about several cut off switches on this model. What are they? (Neutral, kick stand, clutch...). Apparently some of these had been overridden on my bike since it cranked with kick stand and the clutch lever not pulled.
My question is if any of these conditions could cause no spark ( keep in mind that the starter turned the engine). Or in other words: do any of these switches cut off the ignition but not the starter?
Thank you for your help.
Did you ever get your carbs
Did you ever get your carbs back in and sparks sorted out?
Yeah. As for the spark I
Yeah. As for the spark I started testing the connections and doing resistance test of the junction box and the CDI unit. It all tested OK and when I hooked everything back together: vualah... spark!
As for the carbs I found two bolts that were holding the airbox in place. Once removed they give a little more space and allow you to push the airbox more to the front when puttting the boots back on the carb ports.
No thanks to this forum though.
